Here we are once again -
the earth has made another orbit,
the seasons another cycle,
and the wheel of life another turn.
And we return to this season
of the long night,
the stories of glad tidings,
and this brightest of days.
Here we are marking Christmas once again,
however, we do not return the same as before.
We have known other births.
We have known deaths great and small.
We have been changed.
And whoever we may be now,
whatever we may be here in this moment,
we are met here by God in love -
